Latest POLP Get Together - Baltimore Aquarium

We are so unbelievably lucky to live in an area with so many LP friends.  Our latest trip was to the Baltimore Aquarium where we met up with lots and lots of our friends.  Peyton has become quite the best bud with Preston so we got to spend our day checking out most of the aquarium with him and Kim.

Jaxson thought the turtles were the coolest!

I have no idea why the water turned out yellow in these pictures, but they were still pretty awesome.

Jude and Jaxson were having a great time pointing out all the fish.

Jax loved the dolphin show too and Jason did a great job with the camera!!

Lost and Found……

So I’m really not as good about blogging as I wish I was…….That being said, I’ve got quite a few posts to try to catch up on.  This is what we were doing a couple of months ago.

Peyton lost a few things………

IMG_2190

He lost his two bottom front teeth about a month or so prior and has really been working on the top teeth.  He REALLY wanted to lose a tooth at school because they give you a little treasure box to put it in and take home.  So, one day I came home from work to find this beautiful smiling face!

About three days later we got this…..

IMG_2193

Missing all four of your front teeth is the best according to Peyton because now he can put a straw in his mouth without even opening it!

And at our house we also FOUND a little something……..musical talent!

IMG_2206

Peyton’s Aunt gave him this paper jams guitar for Christmas.  It is the coolest thing!  Jaxson got a hold of it and ROCKED OUT!!!

Peyton joined in before the night was over playing on his guitar from Nashville.  We had such a great time at the concert!

Peyton’s new RIDE!

Peyton had a GREAT day yesterday.  He has decided to play lacrosse this year instead of baseball and yesterday we got to pick up all the equipment he’ll need.  Man, you need a LOT of stuff for lacrosse!  Along with the stuff we had to buy, stick, mouth guard, cleats, etc. we had to rent a helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads and gloves.  He’s never played before, but seems sooo excited to get started and I can’t wait to get a chance to watch him!  I love that he’s willing to try new things.

IMG_2164 IMG_2163

Peyton has also been saving every dollar he’s gotten in the last two years or so for a four wheeler.  I’ve watched him take every penny from birthdays, Christmas, good report cards, allowance, etc. and keep it on his dresser in his room, all in the hopes of one day having enough money to buy a four wheeler.  I had to watch as his face fell a little on Christmas day because Santa didn’t bring him one and I explained that Santa knew he was saving his own money to buy one so he couldn’t just hand it to him.  BUT yesterday it finally worked out that he got one!!  It’s all used and needs a little work, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bigger smile on his face!

IMG_2165

I found an ad on Craiglist Friday and called Jason to check it out.  So while Peyton, Jaxson and I went to get all of his lacrosse equipment, Jason went to see about the four wheeler.  Peyton was anxiously waiting for him to get home because we were supposed to go bowling yesterday afternoon, but that was all forgotten as soon as Jason pulled into the driveway.

IMG_2166

It was “little” windy and extremely cold here yesterday, as you can tell from Jaxson’s great hairdo!

IMG_2167

Along with the four wheeler, the guy also had a helmet and chest protector.  Peyton thinks he is just the coolest!

IMG_2169 IMG_2172

Of course Jason had to get in on the fun and “test” out the newest toy.

IMG_2170

Needless to say the afternoon was not spent at the bowling alley….

I’m so proud and excited for him earning this all by himself!

SNOW DAY!

So last week we finally got a snow day, including mommy!!!  YAY!  I was so excited to see enough snow that I could actually take the boys out to play and not just make it a horrible commute to work.  Peyton was ready to get outside at 8am, but I did hold him off until about 9:30…….

Of course, as soon as I got Jaxson dressed to look like this……..

IMG_2140

He had to pee!  So, another 20 minutes later and we were dressed again and back outside!

IMG_2139

Peyton was nice enough to shovel the snow in front of my car so I could get out the following day.

IMG_2142 IMG_2143

This was the best snow for making snowmen.  I think we had this guy built in 10 minutes!

IMG_2147

Jason got to play on his new toy too!  Even though it wasn’t a very deep snow it was heavy so plowing the driveway and sidewalks was a lot nicer than shoveling.

IMG_2154

And, of course, there was a little snowball action.

IMG_2155

Peyton was so excited that this one actually hit right below Jason’s chin!

Until the next snow storm………………….

Merry Christmas 2010

Christmas Day 2010.  What a BUSY day, but I absolute LOVE having Santa visit.  Christmas is my favorite time of year and I love our traditions of making cookies, wrapping presents and going to Christmas Eve Church service with my boys.

This year I did a great job getting my shopping done early, however, I didn’t wrap a thing until Christmas Eve!  Not one single present………..So Jaxson and I spent most of the afternoon doing just that.  Thank God he was able to help me.  LOL

IMG_2084

I don’t know how Santa managed to get all the presents in his sleigh because our boys got a lot of loot this year!

Peyton’s gifts…………

Jaxson’s gifts………..

IMG_2087

I’ve never really had a Christmas where gifts were opened at 3am or 5am.  My grandparents lived right across the street from me growing up so as kids we always had to wait for them to come over before we could go downstairs and see what Santa brought us and I don’t remember there ever being a year where they came over before 7am.  Sometimes it was a bit nerve wracking to have to wait for them, but I love looking back at all those years of pictures of me, my sisters and my Pop-Pop posing on the stairs as he carried me down to see my presents.

This year, again, I was the first one up in our house.  It works like this on all days when we have things to do, both boys want to sleep in!  Once everyone was downstairs it was presents and wrapping paper all over the place!!

Peyton’s decided to play lacrosse this year instead of baseball so he got his first lacrosse stick.  Jaxson got a new tractor (one of many for the day.  This kid is nuts over tractors and cars!)

IMG_2091

IMG_2097

IMG_2106

We also got a little snow on Christmas day and during the week after.  Although it wasn’t really enough to go sledding or make a snowman the boys both had a great time being out in the mix of it.

IMG_2123

Hopefully we’re gonna get that blizzard soon !  I know lots of you don’t like snow, but I hate having the trek through the sludge and mess to get to work so if it’s gonna snow I want it to snow buckets so I can stay home and enjoy it with my boys!

Merry Christmas everyone!  Hope you all enjoyed your Holidays!!
