Peyton’s Opening Day for Soccer 2011

Opening Day for soccer was this past Saturday for Peyton.  It was a very busy Saturday since we had pictures, Peyton’s first game, a bridal shower for Jason’s youngest sister, dinner and her bachelorette party all in one day!

Even though it was a very busy day I always love watching Peyton play soccer.  He’s been playing since he was 4 years old and although he’s only 7 now, it’s inspiring for me to watch the progress he’s made and also watch him just have a good time playing.  This year he will be on the bigger field and they actually have positions to play.

We’re looking forward to a really great year.  Good luck Peyton and above all else - HAVE FUN!!!

Cute Pirate Jaxson cupcakes……IMG_2928

Jaxson loved all of it and it certainly makes it worth all the hard work to see this face!

He loved all of his presents.  Especially his cool new shades from Mom-Mom!

Jaxson also loves to play dress up with all of Peyton’s old Halloween costumes.  He has been using my pillowcases as a cape so he could be a super hero, but now he has his very own costume thanks to his Aunt.

Wow!  One very busy weekend with lots of parties for one very loved little boy!!

Celebrating with Jude

Originally we had planned to have everyone back to Quiet Waters Park after the pirate cruise for pizza and cake.  As soon as I sent the invitations, Jenn called me to say she was planning to invite us to the park that same afternoon for a cookout to celebrate Jude’s birthday.  We both immediately thought it would be a great idea to join the boys birthdays to celebrate together and it worked out perfectly!!!

The boys were all very excited to get to play in the dirt and stones as soon as we got there.

We had the best afternoon catching up with all of our friends, including Nathan and his parents who were able to join us for our afternoon part of the party.  YAY!!

The boys played and the adults had a chance to talk and catch up.  We ate hamburgers, roasted marshmallows and Jude and Jaxson each had their own cakes.  To continue with Jaxson’s pirate them, we had a cute “Jake and the Neverland Pirates” theme.

Jude had a chance to celebrate with his own “Wonderpets” themed cake and it looked like he was just as excited to cut into it!

Thank you Jude for sharing your special day with us!  And a very big thank you to Jenn for everything you did to make Jaxson feel special on this day as well as Jude!  You added Jaxson’s name to the birthday sign and bought him a special pirate table cloth, plates and napkins!  You are an amazing friend!

Thank you to everyone who came to the parties and helped us celebrate with Jaxson.  We we feel unbelievably blessed to have all of you in our lives :)

Pirate Jaxson turns 3!

Wow!  What an awesome weekend we had celebrating Jaxson’s birthday!!

We started by having Kim and Preston over to spend the night Friday night.  Peyton, Preston and Jaxson all took a ride to the firehouse with Jason where they got to play on the fire trucks and then they played at our house for a little while.  At 11pm we knew we were going to be in a lot of trouble if we didn’t get them in bed soon since we had such a busy day planned for Saturday.  So, after much grumbling we finally got them all asleep.  Kim and I had a great time chatting over the wine she brought until the wee hours of the morning.  Thanks Kim!  It was great to have some girl time!!

The next morning, we were up bright and early to set off for our Pirate Adventure!  But, first Jaxson opened his present from us, a new Nintendo DS!!  I never thought my 3 year old would be able to play a DS, but since he’s been playing Peyton’s so much, to the point Peyton never got a chance to play it himself, we figured it was a good idea to get him one.

After everything was packed, we were all off to meet up with more friends – Simon, Jude, Ben and Parker - at Pirate Adventures in Annapolis.

This place was AMAZING!!!  As soon as we arrived all of the kids had a chance to dress up using all kinds of pirate clothes and have their faces painted or tattoos painted on their arms.

During our cruise we got to use our treasure map to find a treasure chest full of lots of goodies!

We found a bad pirate “Captain Pete” along our way and got to shoot him with water cannons off the side of the boat!  It took a couple of tries, but finally knocked him off his dinghy into the water.

We also found a bottle of pirate grog (orange soda!) and everyone enjoyed.

Some enjoyed a little too much and passed out……LOL

We had the BEST day with all of our friends!  Peyton and Jaxson are both still talking about it!!
