Ok, so I almost became one of those moms that cried during the entire assembly at Peyton’s kindergarten graduation. I really hadn’t expected to be so emotional at the small half hour presentation, but I had to hold my breath quite a few times just to keep the tears back!!
Everyone marched in and found their spots. Once Peyton eyed Jaxson in the crowd he was VERY happy and was pointing him out to all his friends. They sang the ABC song, but even better they sang it forwards, backwards and also did each letter in sign language. What an amazing thing to teach these kids at such an early age! I hope it only reinforces the value of acceptance of others.
They also sang a second song of “First Grade, First Grade” to the tune of “New York, New York” and we had a full blown Broadway number with high leg kicks and everything!! The girls wore glittery head bands and each of the boys got a top hat with a glittery stripe.
I’m not sure if I can really post the picture of Peyton with his teacher, Mrs. Brown, but it is very cute. I absolutely LOVED his teacher this year and hope she’s there to have Jaxson too.
So, here’s my brand new 1st Grader! I know it’s just the beginning and it was a Kindergarten graduation, not high school, but I couldn’t be prouder of the young man he is becoming. I love you to the moon and back Peyton!!!
I'm with ya, I was fighting back tears at Taylor's Kindergarten Graduation too! Sounds like "First Grade, First Grade" was really cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome first grader Peyton makes. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteHe is very handsome. Don't worry about the crying. I bawl over ever single one of Preston's Montessori performances. I really wish you had First Grade First Grade on video. How cute is that? Hope he has an amazing summer!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAwe........Its so hard to fight back those tears as a mom. You would think that with as many kids we have it would get easier but it truly does not. Each day is a bright new day as our children grow and learn new things!!!
ReplyDeleteHe sure is a cutie and I am sure he will do wonderfully in 1st grade!
Congrats Peyton!!! That is super cool that they performed to the tune of New York, New York and completely awesome that they taught the kids ABC's in sign language! Love all the pics!
